Redstone College sponsors a racing car which utilizes a class of engine similar to some we use as training aids in our programs, including the ones in our Lear Jet. Our 2011 entry is the Earth Flight Jet Dragster, piloted by Mark Stevens. Crew Chief is Jean Mott. Specifications include:

Engine:	General Electric J-85 jet engine (used in the F-5 Freedom Fighter and the T-38 Talon)
Fuel:	Diesel
Thrust:	Over 9,000 pounds
Weight:	1,250 pounds
Average speed:	280 mph burning 30 gallons of fuel in the average 5.5-second quarter mile run
