HVAC/R Program Objectives

You'll have the opportunity to get your hands dirty during Redstone's on-site facilities training. You will learn practical skills in a simulated environment that are used daily by HVAC professionals. A few HVAC/R certification courses that our students enjoy most include:

  • Refrigeration Fundamentals/Brazing
  • Electricity for HVAC technicians
  • Heating I and Split Systems
  • Commercial Refrigeration I (CFC Certification)
  • Print Reading/HVAC System Design
  • Control System/Building Automation Fundamentals I & II
  • Hydronic Heating - VAV/VVT
  • Chiller Systems

As a student you'll have the opportunity to work on quality, industry-standard equipment during heating and air conditioning training, practicing important skills that are needed for careers in HVAC/R. Classes focus on job training and are taught by experienced professionals who can help you work towards achieving HVAC Certification.

The 5-term Diploma Program covers:

  • Fundamentals of residential and commercial HVAC/R
  • Skills to service residential HVAC systems
  • Electrical/mechanical controls and diagnostic skills

The Associate of Occupational Studies Degree adds:

  • Courses to increase your managerial skills
  • Business communication, human relations, career management
